ooc:Lore! Elder God lore!
***### SPOILERS ###***
For a long while now, lore-hounds have been searching for the wandering ga'al, an abnormally born member of the TzHaar race. The TzHaar are basically a race of what can best be described as lava monsters, but to be more spoilery, the TzHaar are offshoots of the TokHaar, another race of lava monsters, or more appropriately, highly intelligent lava automatons/golems. The TzHaar probably count as automatons as well but they are far more independent than the TokHaar.
Anyhow, the reason players were searching for the wandering ga'al is because it promised to translate some books but then it got lost doing some adventuring.
Anyhow, a transcript of the translation courtesy of player Delta 206 plus some additional analysis by Amascut (the player, not me or the character/pup. Just another RPer. Well, sometimes she does RP but she mostly is a gatherer of lore and she's awesome), and put here to save the information from the page 50 monster. This has also been added to the runescape wikia as part of the NPC Dialogue project (without commentary). But, the intellectual property bugaboo might visit them again, so, having it in multiple places is good.
NOTE: This is all told through TokHaar-Hok, as memories from him.
Chapter 1: Preface
'We are TokHaar-Hok. When it is necessary, we rise up, and speak for the TokHaar. We are the voice of the masters. When the masters wish to speak, they speak through us. The TokHaar-Hok hear the words of the masters. Only the TokHaar-Hok are strong enough to channel the voice of the masters. Only the TokHaar-Hok can hope to voice the incomprehensible thoughts of the masters. The TokHaar-Hok are the voice caste. We listen, we speak, and all TokHaar obey.'
What did we learn?
-TokHaar-Hok is the 'voice' Caste. He/they are the direct prophets of the Elder Gods (the Masters) who tell the people what they must know.
-This has clearly been violated a bit during The Brink of Extinction
Chapter 2: The Masters
'The masters are few in number, but their power is unequaled. They are primordial elders, older than all things. They are the mothers. They are the creators. Jas is time, and so time passes. She is sand, and so there is desert. She created the Elder Stone (Stone of Jas). Ful is constancy; the ever-burning flame. She is fire, and so there is lava. She created the Elder Kiln.'
(addendum: there are more entries but the runes are too faint for the ga'al to translate)
What did we learn?
-This is huge. A brand new Elder God has been revealed here. Ful, the Elder God of Constancy, or Fire.
-Jas is the Elder God of time
-Both Elder Gods are female!
-There are not many Elder Gods. At least one more exists but is not revealed in this text.
Chapter 4 - The Hallow Victory
'After many failures - imperfect worlds wrought with crude tools - the masters succeeded. They created their final, perfect world. The masters fulfilled their great longing. They cast aside their tools, for they no longer had need of them. Jas set down the Elder Stone: the artefact that most purely expressed her power. The masters lay down upon their perfect world. The masters...speak no more.'
What did we learn?
-The Elder Gods left the artefacts strewn around
-Gielinor is the 'perfect world'
-The Elder Gods perhaps died on this world!

Chapter 5: The Enduring Vigil
'There are no more orders. No more mountains to shape. No more tunnels to dig. The masters lie still above us. We do not know if they will awaken. They did not choose to tell us. We will wait. We exist to serve our masters. We will continue our vigil until the masters return. We long for the voice.'
What did we learn?
-The Elder Gods seem to have slept on the surface. They must make up the essence of the world.
-This means Guthix literally shaped the Gods into this world.
-The TokHaar long for them to return...
I disagree with Amascut's speculations on the present whereabouts of the Elder Gods. She is probably overreaching there. Still, neat stuff.
